A favorite in The Morgan Shop, this stunning book cover print of "The Raven" will make a great addition to any home or office decor! This framed high-quality print from the original first edition book cover was photographed in high-resolution using a signature capture process to retain all visual marks and tears as found on the original copy.

The American poet and author Edgar Allan Poe's famous poem "The Raven" was bound in a first edition folio featuring the last commissioned work by the artist Gustav Doré. The cover depicts a crouching angel holding a key and candle with richly decorated gilded wings. Doré's mystical and chillingly macabre imagery illuminate Poe's eerie poem of sadness and longing for the dearest Lenore. Doré passed a year previous in January, 1883 after completing this, his last commission.

The Morgan Library & Museum is also home to an original fragment of "The Raven" that was purchased by Belle da Costa Greene on behalf of J.P. Morgan.

This 12 x 16 inch framed print was printed on archival matte off-white paper and the poster frame is made of rigid MDF with a wood finish and shatter-free thick plexiglass and a sawtooth hanger for easy display.
