The Empress Card Brass Tray

This lovely brass tray features an engraved replica of The Empress card from the Morgan Library & Museum's Visconti-Sforza Tarot. A perfect catchall for keys and coins, it also makes a nice tray to set your own tarot deck!

Painted by Bonifacio Bembo for Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti — the Duke and Duchess of Milan — the Visconti-Sforza tarot is among the earliest surviving tarot decks. Seventy-four cards survive, now divided between the Morgan Library & Museum, the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, and a private collection. Coats of arms on several cards suggest the deck may have been a diplomatic gift, possibly intended to honor a member of the Bon family of Venice.
