One of two drawings by the Impressionist artist Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) included in the Eveillard Gift to the Morgan Library & Museum, these watercolor landscapes most likely date from the first half of the 1890s, a decade during which Renoir and his family traveled to several coastal sites outside of Paris, before discovering the qualities of the South of France in the latter part of that decade.
This notecard was produced to accompany an exhibition on view at the Morgan Library & Museum, Liberty to the Imagination: Drawings from the Eveillard Gift, June 7, 2024 through October 6, 2024.
