A work steeped in history, marked by time and the interventions of restorers: Giovanni Bellini's Pietà, kept at the Museo della Città di Rimini “Luigi Tonini”, lives again today in a new light thanks to a meticulous restoration that restores its original beauty. A careful cleaning of the painted surface, the removal of yellowed varnishes and the delicate reintegration of the details have allowed the brushstroke to shine again.
This restored painting will be on view in the West Room of the McKim Library at the Morgan Library & Museum from January 15, 2026 through April 19, 2026.
