Any antiquarian will wish to wear these conversation starters! This pendant design was inspired by a detail from Seal 48 in our collection of Mesopotamian cylinder seals. This piece reflects the image produced from the cylinder seal when the impression is formed. Available in sterling silver or 14 karat gold-plated sterling silver, the pendant measures approximately 0.75 inch long and 0.5 inch wide on an 18 inch chain.
The original Seal 48 in the Morgan's collection, produced between 3100 B.C. and 2600 B.C., shows a pattern with two running goats one above the other as a simplified animal, with a bird or fish as two lines forming an angle.
