The Luncheon of the Boating Party, an oil on canvas by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, was created in 1881 and embodies the characteristics associated with impressionist paintings. The work depicts a floating restaurant along the Seine waterway in France with many of Renoir’s friends and loved ones present. His future wife at the time is seen in the foreground playing with a puppy. The Artist Series of Quilling Cards artfully transforms paint strokes into paper strips using the ancient art of quilling. Each card takes several hours to make and reimagines a famous work of art into a magnificent greeting card that can either be sent and shared with loved ones or kept and framed as the work of art it is.
