NEW! Inspired by The Morgan's Ancient Seals and Tablets Collections
Any antiquarian will wish to wear these conversation starters! This pendant design was inspired by a detail from Seal 694 in our collection of Mesopotamian cylinder seals. This piece reflects the image produced from the cylinder seal when the impression is formed. Available in sterling silver or 14 karat gold-plated sterling silver, the pendant measures approximately 1.5 inches long and 1 inch wide on an 18 inch chain.
The original Seal 694 in the Morgan's collection, produced between 810 B.C. and 790 B.C., portrays a goddess with a ring and scimitar seated on a star-studded throne place on a lion. The worshipper faces the goddess armed with bows and sword who stands on a bull holding and axe. The scene is topped with a sun disk and crescent in the sky.
