In 1909 Belle da Costa Greene, librarian and the Morgan Library's fist Director, negotiated the purchase of the earliest known manuscript fragment of one of the greatest poems in American literature, Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven". The binding in which the Poe manuscript was once bound bears Greene's penciled research notes, indicating her ongoing work on the manuscript after its acquisition. Later she learns of a complete autograph manuscript of "The Raven", now in Philadelphia, and corrects an earlier statement that the fragment was the only extant manuscript of the poem.

This lovely lined journal shows the original manuscript binding of "The Raven" fragment in the Morgan's collection featuring the detailed front and back. The hardcover journal has a soft-touch laminate finish which gives the cover a silky-smooth feel and has 100 sheets of lined ivory paper.
