Studies like this, with several corporeal forms arranged loosely on a single page, played a key role in the working process and legacy of Utrecht artist Abraham Bloemart (1566-1651). Like many of his predecessors and peers, Bloemart mined his own study drawings-ranging from isolated facial features, to heads, to full-length figures-in the process of formulating new compositions for prints and paintings.

This magnet is sure to be a favorite keepsake and inspiration for any artist. This magnet was designed to accompany the exhibition Far and Away: Drawings from the Clement C. Moore Collection on view at the Morgan Library & Museum June 28, 2024 through September 22, 2024.
