This silk tie captures the unique artistic style of the period when the events of the Norman Conquest took place, using elements from the Bayeux Tapestry, in the muted colors of the kind created by the natural dye pigments from the Medieval age.

The tapestry is an embroidered cloth nearly 70 meters long that depicts the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England and culminating in the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

Key scenes include the events surrounding the succession crisis in England after the death of Edward the Confessor, the famous oath of allegiance sworn by Harold Godwinson to Duke William of Normandy, and the decisive Battle of Hastings where Harold is famously struck in the eye with an arrow.
